PetroChallenge Greenland

A series of learning simulation events at Greenlandic secondary schools. The purpose is to increase oil and gas industry knowledge and to inspire youngsters to consider studies in science and engineering. The 2012 Spring event was organized by Simprentis with Cairn Energy Ltd, Nunaoil, and Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq as sponsors.

Preparations for PetroChallenge Greenland 2013 are underway.

To participate, one teacher from each school will need to register (when registration opens later).

This simulation teaches young people how to use their brains to make decisions individually, and in groups. They learn loads about keeping deadlines, cooperating and facing a challenge. Previous students I have met can remember this challenge as one of the most exiting events during their period in Senior High School.
