To improve the student enjoyment and learning experience in PetroChallenge, we have introduced PetroChallenge terms and conditions of participation. Please read the terms and conditions below. Completing the registration for your school implies your acceptance of the terms and conditions for the event.
1) If your school is to participate online and not at one of the Large scale face-to-face venues, then at least ONE teacher from each school must attend the online PetroChallenge refresher sessions (dates to be confirmed after consultation with interested teachers and schools) 2) One teacher per 30 students should be assisting the students throughout the whole event at either your own school or at the face-to-face event venues. 3) Each school has only ONE teacher registered as the PetroChallenge school contact, regardless of the number of classes or teachers involved with the event at the school. This person is responsible for the registration of the school and for registering the class and student information prior to the event. 4) Teams are to consist of 3 or 4 students. 5) Only 2 computers per team are to be used. 6) If a school is participating online from their own school, each school contact is responsible for checking the OilSim technical specification to ensure that both the school's internet and student laptops/computers are suitable and prepared for the event. 7) If a school is participating online from their own school, the school's bandwidth capacity is checked to ensure that there is enough bandwidth for all the teams. (In our experience blocking services like Facebook and BitTorrent greatly will improve the experience for the students). |
