OilSim training sessions can be based on both
offshore and onshore scenarios, and this has now been expanded with ultra-deep
offshore scenarios in OilSim.
The inaugural ultra-deep OilSim session was
at the LukOil PetroChallenge University of Houston in August 2011.
Having this new option in OilSim is really
important, because more and more oil and gas exploration, development, and
production is taking place in very deep waters in for example West Africa,
Brazil, and the Gulf of Mexico.
The first ultra-deep offshore scenario in
OilSim covers the waters off Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana, but it is possible to use
any area of the world - and even totally fictitious areas. All that is needed to
use new geographical areas in OilSim is to design and import the map and
corresponding data sets.
In OilSim you can use real data and
fictitious data. If you are looking to run a session in new or under-explored
basins, OilSim can create the geology based on current limited knowledge. |
